In what can be described as a swift reaction and display of professionalism, unconfirmed information has it that some arrests have been made in connection with the gruesome murder of 2-year old girl in Ningi.
It would be recalled that two days ago, the corpse of a 2-year old girl was found wrapped in clothes and dumped within the premises of a Mosque in an area known as Newada in Ningi, headquarters of Ningi LGA.
A reliable source in Ningi confused in Tribune Online that the arrests made followed very good discreet investigations by personnel of the Ningi Police in collaboration with members of the public who are conversant with the situation.
The source who did not mention names of those arrested in connection with the crime for security reasons, disclosed that they include close relatives of the late 2 year old girl.
According to him, the story related to the birth of the innocent girl at the initial stage was also connected to her death considering the circumstances that led to the incident.
He however expressed confidence in the Police to unearth the circumstances surrounding the gruesome death of the girl, stressing that justice must be allowed to take its full course in order to serve as detterant to others who may find themselves in the similar situation.
When connected for update on the case, the Command PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili assured that the Command has made a headway in its discreet investigation and will soon make its fundings public.
