Yuletide: Bauchi Gov calls for peace, unity, continued support

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has emphasized the need for unity and collective responsibility in building communities and developing Bauchi State.

The Governor made the assertion in a goodwill message to felicitate with Christians on the 2025 Christmas, encouraging citizens to exchange visits, share gifts and promote harmony, including with adherents of other faiths.

The Governor also extended warm felicitations to Christian faithful in Bauchi State and across the country on the occasion of the 2025 Christmas celebration, calling on citizens to embrace peace, love, tolerance and unity.

In his Christmas goodwill message to the people of the State, Bala Mohammed thanked God Almighty for His mercies and for sparing the lives of citizens to witness another yuletide season.

The Governor further noted that Christmas, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ, is a period that reminds all people of faith of the virtues of peace, honesty, love for one another and the fear of God.

He also stressed that these values should be embraced by all, irrespective of religious, ethnic or political differences, to foster peaceful coexistence in the State.

According to him, “Christmas season provides an opportunity for reflection, prayer and renewal, urging citizens to use the period to reflect on their deeds, seek divine forgiveness and strengthen the bonds of love, respect and forgiveness among themselves.“

He reassured the people that his administration remains committed to inclusive governance, justice and fairness, while appreciating the understanding and resilience of Christians in Bauchi State despite what he described as divisive and misleading narratives.

He noted that the unity of the people continues to stand as a strong pillar against intolerance and falsehood.

On security, the Governor reaffirmed that his government places high priority on the protection of lives and property, adding that sustained collaboration with security agencies has helped in addressing security challenges across the State.

He called on residents to continue to support and cooperate with security operatives to maintain peace.

Bala Mohammed also highlighted his administration’s commitment to economic growth, citing the successes recorded from the State’s Economic and Investment Summit, which attracted investment commitments running into billions of Dollars and Naira, positioning Bauchi State as a preferred investment destination.

He appreciated the continued support of the people since the inception of his administration in 2019 and assured them that development programmes would reach all parts of the State before the end of his tenure in 2027.

The Governor acknowledged the economic challenges facing citizens and reiterated the State Government’s efforts to ease hardship through palliative measures, while appealing for patience and understanding as the government works to improve living conditions.

Bala Mohammed wished Christians a joyful and peaceful Christmas celebration and prayed for continued peace, unity and divine blessings upon Bauchi State and the Nation at large.
