Nigeria’s foremost frontline Politician and Chairman, Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, comprising Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba and Adamawa States, Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko (Barayan Bauchi) has saluted the contributions of gallant Armed Forces on their various immeasurable contributions towards promoting a united and indivisible Nigeria.
He also saluted the nation’s indefatigable founding fathers who paid the supreme sacrifices in the Nigeria’s Unity.
He mentioned the likes of Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa (Known as the Golden Voice of Africa); Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe (Known as Zik of Africa and served as First Civilian President of Nigeria); Sir Ahmadu Bello (The Sadauna of Sokoto) and Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
Others are: Chief Anthony Enahoro; Alhaja Habibatu Mogaji; Chief Solomon Lar; Dr. Festus Okotie Eboh; Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Sule (Dan Masanin Kano); Chief Joself S. Tarka; Chief Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti; Malam Aminu Kano; Dr. Paul Unongo and Late Barayan Bauchi, Alhaji Muhammadu Baban Takko.
The rest are: Late Dangaladiman Adamawa, Ambassador Ahmadu Ribadu; Late Dr. Shettima Ali Monguno; Late Wazirin Katagum, Alhaji Sule Katagum; Late Wazirin Katsina, Alhaji Isa Kaita; Late Ubandoman Gombe, Alhaji Mu’azu Halliru; Late Walin Bauchi, Alhaji Abubakar Umar; Late Senator A.D Rufa’i; Elder Statesman Alhaji Yarima Balla; Late Idris Alooma, and host of others.
According to him, “Their contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria is legendary, overwhelming, and worthy of emulation, as indeed they left an everlasting legacy that continues to shape Nigeria’s identity and aspirations. May the souls of our fallen heroes rest in perfect peace.”
The Barayan Bauchi added that, “Interestingly, the auspicious celebration of this glorious and momentous day is an opportunity for us to reflect on the quality of leadership and the dynamisms these beacon of hope who have inspired the younger and coming generations of Nigerians towards the gospel of peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual understanding aimed at Nigerian prosperity.”
“Moreover, calling on all Nigerians to be their brothers and sisters keepers that continue to make the concept of National Unity and Integration as their watchword,” he added.
He used the opportunity to thank Nigeria’s leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who he described as a true Nation Builder, a symbol of excellence, champion of democracy, detribalised Nigerian, epitome of dedications and selflessness, harbinger of hope, a Pan-Africanist, a Bridge Builder, an embodiment of peace, and above all, father of modern day Nigeria, for the trust bestowed upon him.
He stressed that, “The opportunity to continue giving my very best to nation building in his renewed hope administration as the Chairman, Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority. While assuring him of my total and unallowed commitment to this noble cause, and with tenacity working for the greater success of his core vision as encapsulated in his Renewed Hope Agenda for the greater good of all Nigerians.”
He added that,”I am Praying fervently for today’s solemn event of remembering our falling heroes, as symbolic, which is in line with the Chinese adage which posits; “To die and continue to remain in the hearts of those left behind is not to die.”
“On this note, I’d like to express my heartfelt appreciation to our Grand Commander, Rt. Honourable James Abiodun Faleke, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), and Grand Chief of the Independent Campaign Council, (ICC), His Excellency, Dr. Silas Ali Agara, as well as Senator Abu Ibrahim. We’re grateful for their instrumental role in facilitating and recommending presidential appointments for many of us who served in the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, and Independent Campaign Council, ICC,” he added.
“I am appealing to my fellow compatriot and Nigerians, most especially, my brothers and sisters from the Nineteen (19) Northern States to continue praying to God Almighty for the greatest success of our dear President, Bola Tinubu-led-administration,” he added.
He added saying,”I am sending my heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, for the creation of Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, aimed at improving Animal husbandry, ranching, revitalising the ailing livestock industry and to harness the potentials associated with the sector, as well as the appointments of patriotic Nigerians from the Northern Region into strategic sectors and vital key areas towards Nation Building.”
“These include Honourable Minister of Agriculture; Minister of Defence; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, among others. These are tested administrators, core professionals with unblemished record who are working round the clock in adding value to the present administration’s core vision as well as for the greater good of the entire Northern Nigeria, and beyond. ‘Hope on The Renewed Hope’.
He concluded stressing that, “We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, indeed the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu is gaining momentum with widest acceptance, positively touching the lives of Nigerians.”
