Six Officers in the Bauchi State Civil Service have been suspended by the State Civil Service Commission for what was regarded as serious misconduct.
The Commission considered the suspension during its valedictory sitting fir 2024 which was the 41st plenary session on 14/11/2024, prior to going on recess, at it’s conference Hall.
The suspended Officers were alleged to have either sold or converted Government’s properties removed from the ongoing constructions of Flyover bridges at Wunti and Central Market within Bauchi metropolis worth millions of Naira which contravened Section 0327 of the Bauchi State Public Service Regulations.
It was a serious wrongdoing and improper behavior hence the Commission suspended them under Section 0331 of the State Public Service Regulations to allow the relevant authorities investigate the reported crime.
Those suspended are Staff of the State Ministry of Works and Transport attached to the State Infrastructures Development and Maintenance Agency (BASIDMA).
They included, Mohammed Musa Saye Chief Store Officer, Ado Abba Pali Senior Technical Officer, Danladi Noma Senior Fireman, Garba Nuhu Senior Works Superintendent, Ibrahim Inuwa Technical Assistant Electrical and Uzairu Mudi also a Technical Assistant Electrical. The suspension took effect from 14th November, 2024.
On the other hand, the Commission considered the acting appointment of a Deputy Director Planning from the rank of Chief Planning Officer and promoted 79 deserving Officers, converted 3, in Environmental Health, Executive cadres etc from Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) and the State Drugs Consumables Management Agency.
Also during the sitting, Two Nursing Officers, Rakiya Musa and Ibrahim Muhammad Lawan were reinstated into the State service while the Management of the Bauchi Radio Corporation has been directed to resubmit authentic recommendations of senior Staff promotion which must include a Petitioner Bashir Idris who was sidelined by the Radio House.
Meanwhile the Commission during the plenary session, announced that it would be on recess from 25th -28th November, 2024.
The Chairman of the Commission Alh. Abubakar Usman who announced this, said, this is to enable him and his Members attend the 43rd Annual Council of Federal and State Civil Service Commissions meeting in Katsina State.
In his remarks, the Permanent Commissioner (II) of the Commission, Dr. Dauda Abdullahi, on behalf of the other Permanent Commissioners, expressed a vote of confidence on the Commission’s Chairman, Alh. Abubakar Usman, commending his unwavering commitment in enhancing the Commission’s standing.
He also praised the Secretariat led by the Permanent Secretary Alh. Isa Mohammed Tahir, for their dedication and selfless service, urging them to maintain the momentum as contained in a statement by Saleh Umar, Information and Public Relations Officers BSCSC.
