Bauchi Council Chairperson gifts Christians N10m for Christmas

Executive Chairperson of Bauchi Local Government Council, Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar, has donated the sum of ₦10,000,000 to the Christian community residing within the Local Government Area to support them in the celebration of this year’s Christmas.
The money was presented to the leadership of the CAN in the Area by Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar on Wednesday at the Council Secretariat in Bauchi.
He explained that the gesture formed part of his administration’s efforts to promote peace, mutual understanding, and unity among people of different religious backgrounds within the local government area.
He expressed his sincere appreciation to the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for maintaining a strong and cordial relationship with the people of Bauchi State.

Muhmood Babamaji described the Governor’s leadership as inclusive, people-oriented, and responsive to the needs of citizens across all communities, noting that such a relationship has continued to strengthen trust, unity, and peaceful coexistence among the people.
He emphasized that the Governor’s open-door policy and commitment to engaging with grassroots leaders have greatly contributed to effective governance and sustainable development in the state.
He further emphasized that Christmas is a season of love, forgiveness, and peaceful coexistence, and he wished the Christian faithful a joyful celebration filled with peace and blessings.
The Council Chairman further assured that his administration would continue to provide equal opportunities to all citizens without discrimination, while remaining committed to safeguarding peace and harmony among all communities in the area.
In his response, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), in Bauchi Local Government Area, Pastor Daniel Rikes, expressed deep gratitude and happiness over the donation.
He described the support as timely and a clear reflection of good leadership and genuine concern for the welfare of the people.
Pastor Daniel Rikes also offered prayers and goodwill to the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, commending his inclusive policies aimed at uniting the people and sustaining peace across the state.
The Clergyman prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health, and success for the Governor and other leaders of the state and the nation as they continue to serve the people.
The donation further underscores the strong relationship and mutual understanding between the government and various religious communities in Bauchi State, while reinforcing the message of peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence among the people.
