As part of her giving back to the society, Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Mohamed Dahiru, has forfeited her salaries and allowances to the Government to be used for other departmental purposes.
The development is to exemplified community service and dedication to supporting government in driving education to the highest standards as She redirected the forfeited money back to the Government coffers through the Ministry of Education.
Upon assuming office, Jamila Dahiru, through her nonprofit Non-governmental organization, ‘We Care Foundation’, identified, recommended and executed a transformative project to improve facilities and services at the Ministry.
The Foundation therefore, spearheaded series of impactful initiatives, including the complete renovation and furnishing of the Commissioner’s office, the Confidential Secretary’s office and the creation of a new office space for the Commissioner’s Personal Assistant.
Additionally, ‘We Care Foundation’ undertook landscaping improvements within the premises, erected a security barricade around the Ministry’s premises and installed an easily identifiable and attractive signboard.
On November 14, 2024, the project’s completion was officially marked when Alhaji Saad Mohamed Dahiru, Co- founder of ‘We Care Foundation’, handed over the renovation notes to the Ministry of Education.
The Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ali Babayo, received the documents and praised the Commissioner’s generosity and the outstanding quality of the work, which he noted would benefit the Ministry for years to come.
He highlighted Dr. Jamila Dahiru’s selfless efforts to enhance the working environment, commending her dedication to elevating educational standards and creating a more conducive atmosphere for Ministry’s staff.
On behalf of the Bauchi State Government and the Ministry of Education, Ali Babayo expressed profound appreciation for the substantial infrastructural improvements, emphasizing that the Foundation’s work represents a significant achievement in the state’s educational sector as contained in a statement by Jalaludeen Usman, Information and Public Relations Officer.
