Bauchi State Ministry of Education has reiterated commitment to reviving the Inter-Schools Football Competition in order to enhance extra-curricular activities and boost enrollment into the formal schools.
The assertion was made by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Muhammad Dahiru at the opening of Kauran Bauchi Inter-Secondary Schools Football Championship, held over the weekend at the Football Field of General Hassan Usman Katsina Unity College in Bauchi.
Jamila Dahiru emphasized that the Inter-Schools Football Championship aims to develop students’ abilities, foster relationships, and encourage academic focus for societal development.
She commended Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his support to the initiative, particularly in sports activities.
The competition will be held across the Three Senatorial l Districts in the State, with participation expected from all public schools.
The Commissioner urged public schools throughout the state to register for the competition in order to achieve the goals.
She encouraged the spirit of sportsmanship reminding them that it is not a do or die affairs and so it should be taken as a medium of social interaction among the athletes and others.
