Bauchi State Governor, Sen r Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has commended the a political pressure group, Tafiyan Matasan Arewa, organisers of a Youths Consultative meeting held over the weekend in Bauchi aimed at charting a new cause for youths in Northern Nigeria.
The Governor who was the Special Guest of Honor at the meeting, commemded the Group for creating the stage to discuss the issues affecting the youths and how to mitigate same in a more peaceful and amicable environment.
Bala Mohammed who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Adamu Babayo Gabarin, expressed his commitment to advancing the welfare and inclusion of more youths in governance.
He said that youths are an integral part of any society but faces numerous challenges, ranging from inadequate access to resources, education, and mentorship.
According to him, “For us to address these issues, it is imperative to empower our youths through various programmes and initiatives. This can be achieved through education, training, entrepreneurship development and mentorship.”
Also speaking, Bauchi State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Social Welfare and Child Development, Zainab Baban Takko assured that women will not be left out in the move to chart a new cause for political development in the Northern States.
She assured that in Bauchi State, women have been playing pivotal roles in ensuring that only people with developmental visions were voted into office as was done in the case of the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir.
The Commissioner then urged leaders of the Movement to remain focused in the objective of forming it and ensured that they engaged in serious advocacy and enlightenment in order to get attention of Youths and Women across the Nineteen Northern States.
In his remarks, earlier, National Chairman of the Tafiyan Matasan Arewa (Northern Youths Movement), Muhammad Zazzagawa called on members to eschew religious and ethnic bigotry, protests, and thuggery in order to foster development in the region.
According to the chairman, the region’s progress is being hindered by unnecessary conflicts and divisions along religious and ethnic lines.
He emphasized that the movement’s primary objective is to promote unity, peace, and development among Northern youths.
The Chairman urged members to focus on constructive engagement and dialogue, rather than resorting to protests and violence.
He also stressed the importance of education, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurship in driving regional development.
Furthermore, the chairman encouraged members to be ambassadors of peace and positive change in their respective communities.
He emphasized that the movement is committed to working with stakeholders to address the region’s challenges and promote sustainable development.
The chairman’s call to action is seen as a significant step towards promoting peace, unity, and development in the Northern region.
