Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State on Monday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Ministry of Health on the official handing over of the General Hospital Misau for upgrade to Federal Medical Centre.
The Governor also applauded the upgrade of the Federal Medical Centre Azare to a Teaching Hospital, which he said is a welcome development.
Speaking at the signing of the MoU at the Council Chambers, Government House, Bauchi, the Governor reiterated the partnership of his administration to the Federal Ministry of Health for effective healthcare delivery in the state.
Bala Mohammed appreciated the Honourable Minister of Health, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate for being a good ambassador of the state by providing a number of health infrastructure to the state since his appointment.
He said the upgrade of the General Hospital Misau would go along way in assisting the state government to provide efficient healthcare services to the benefiting communities and promised make good use of the facility in order to achieve the desired objectives.
“Today is a very auspicious day for the Government and the good people of Bauchi State because the signing of our MoU with the Federal Ministry of Health led by Professor Ali Pate is a great achievement.
“Bauchi us very proud of the Honorable Minister of Health for being a good ambassador of his state. We are happy that he is representing us well at the Federal Government.”
Governor Bala Mohammed who briefed the Minister on the milestones achieved by his administration in the health sector including the renovation of over 29 General Hospital, assured to do more for the health benefit of the citizens of the state.
On his part, the Honourable Minister of Health, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his administration’s investment in the health sector and reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Federal Government towards sustaining collaboration with critical stakeholders aa contained in a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Bauchi Governor.
