Bauchi State Government has commiserate with the People of Gamawa Local Government Area over the flood disaster which unfortunately claimed lives and destroyed homes, assured Government commitment to response to the situation.
The Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Housing and Environment Alh. Danlami Kawule made the pledged when he led a High powered committee that will make a special report on the rampaging flood at Gamawa.
Danlami Kawule said the committee is part of the resolution of State Executive Council SEC yesterday to provide report on Gamawa unfortunate incident (the flood) for immediate action.
He added that the committee has the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Housing and Environment, Works and Transport, Humanitarian affairs and disaster management, Sema and other related agencies.
Danlami Kawule further said Bauchi State Government and Governor Bala abdulkadir Muhammad has sympathised, feels the pain and suffering of the communities affected by the flood in Gamawa, assured immediate response of the Government.
In his remarks the Hon. Commissioner Ministry. of works and Transport Hon. Ibrahim Gambo Galadima assured that Government will give top priority to rehabilitation of the roads affected by the flood to alleviate suffering of the communities in Gamawa.
He said technical engineers from the Ministry of works has made an on-the-Spot assessment of the problem , particularly roads linking Gamawa – Udubo and Gamawa Alagarno and assured govt intervention.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman Gamawa Local Government Area Hon. Ahmed Madaki Gololo thanked the Governor for sending a special team to re-assess the bad effect of the flood.
He enlisted the highly effected communities to includes : Gadiya, Zindiwa, Kafin romi and Gamawa Town.
According to him the flood has claimed over Ten 10 lives , Thousands displaced, millions of worth properties destroyed.
In their separate remarks the District Head of Udubu Alh. Magaji Muhammad and that of Gamawa Alh. Adamu Abdulkadir Dahuwa appreciated the Governor’s concern over nominations of this High calibre personalities for this assignment.
According to them the Governor has reiterated commitment to the plight of Gamawa people, pray allah to continue to support him as contained in a statement by Muhammad Sani Yunusa, Information Officer.
