The Oba Yoruba of Bauchi, Alhaji Tirimisiyu Tijjani Adegoke has congratulated the newly installed Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade over his coronation and presentation of staff of office by the Oyo State Governor, Engnr Seyi Makinde.
He described the ceremony as the height of upholding of the custom and tradition of the people of Oyo kingdom and Yoruba race as a whole commending the people of Oyo kingdom for the success of the programme.
According to him, “I felicitate and congratulae the new Alaafin of Oyo,His Royal Majesty,Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers, and i have a strong hope that his enthronement will bring good tidings and prosperity to the people of Oyo town Insha Allah”
“I have no doubt that the Alaafin has the creativity,capacity, capability and commitment to transform the lives of his people and move Oyo town forward,” he added.
Tirimisiyu Adegoke further stated that, “It is certain that in every contest or in the quest to fill any vacant position,there will be diverse interests/opinions but at the end of the day a truce must be found, and there must be a winner. May God bless your Royal Majesty and the people of Oyo Kingdom.“
The Oba Yoruba added that, “I want to appeal to his contenders to resign to the will of God by cooperating with the newly cotonated Alaafin of Oyo in order to move Oyo Kingdom forward because, only God Almighty enthrones and dethrones.”
He stressed that, “With the process culminating in the presentation of staff of office and coronation, the next thing is service to the people. This can only be done with support and cooperation, I am therefore calling on all sons and daughters of Oyo kingdom to rally behind the new Alaafin in order to move the kingdom forward positively.”
He then pledged his loyalty and support to the new Alaafin of Oyo stressing that as an indegene of Oyo and in his position as traditional ruler of Yoruba in Bauchi, he will ensure that the needed support was accorded the monarch at all times.
