While congratulating the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr, Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has expressed hope that the lessons learned during the month of Ramadan would continue to guide people’s actions and utterances after the holy month.

He stressed that, “As a sacred day, the Eid-el-Fitr should not only be turned into a mere holiday defined by pomp and pageantry but should be used as an occassion to atone for our shortcomings and resolve to take corrective measures towards improving our relationship with Allah (SWT), fellow Muslim Umma and adherents of other faith.”
According to him,”We should emulate Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by making sacrifices for the benefit of the less privileged in our society. We should also pray to Almighty Allah for peace, unity and prosperity of our dear State and the country as a whole.”
He assured that, “As a Government, we will not relent in our drive to ensure the continuous peaceful coexistence among the heterogeneous ethnic and religious groups in the State. I appeal for your continued understanding, cooperation and support towards the realization of this noble objective.”
“I would like to call on all the good people of the State to use the occasion of the Eid-el-fitr to strengthen the existing relationships among them and also establish new ones. You should also imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, love and respect for one another,” he added.
Furthermore more,”I also appeal for tolerance, accommodation and a sense of understanding among the various ethnic, religious and political groups in the State.”
The Governor added that, “As we approach the half-mark of our second and final term, I want to assure you that our government will not only sustain the tempo in providing the dividends of democracy but would strive to improve upon its performance in this regard.”
According to him,”While thanking you for the confidence reposed in me, I would like to appeal for your continued support and cooperation as we build on the successes so far recorded by our Administration.”
