Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Jatau has assured the Uniccon Group of the State Government’s unwavering commitment and support as they work together to unlock mutually beneficial dividends.
The Deputy Governor was speaking when the Unicorn Group team visited him in his office as part of the Group’s visit to the State.
Manassah Jatau emphasized that the Gombe State Government has created a business-friendly environment, citing the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park and the International Conference Centre as prime examples.
According to him, Gombe, a home of peace and tranquility, has given the enabling environment for business to thrive highlighting its slogan, ‘the Jewel in the Savannah’.
The Deputy Governor stressed that, “This park, along with other initiatives, is part of a broader ecosystem designed to ensure business success, earning the state the number one spot in ease of doing business across the country.”
“This strategic focus reflects the visionary leadership of Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,” he added.
Earlier, the Director General of Gombe State Due Process Bureau, Engr. Muhammad Dauda Abubakar had welcomed the Uniccon Group on a 3 day visit to Gombe State.
The visit was at the instance of the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau which is in line with the vision of the Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to integrate Digital Technology in State Administration thereby efficiently enhancing governance, accountability and transparency.
This visit follows many productive discussions and engagements between the State Government and the Uniccon Group which was highlighted on the 1st of December where the Commissioner of Science, technology and Innovation, Dr Bappah Garkuwa and the Director General of the Due Process Bureau Engr. Muhammad Dauda Abubakar as they visited the Uniccon Group facility in Abuja.
Uniccon Group, a leading deep-technology consortium in Africa, is a global leader in Deep Digital Technology, Digital literacy, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technology, Robotics, Cybersecurity, Drone Manufacturing, innovative solutions to modern problems and advanced technology training.
The group looks to also invest in Gombe State by establishing a drone manufacturing and maintenance facility in the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park in Gombe State amongst other projects they plan to launch to help in capacity building of the workforce of the civil service and the citizens of Gombe State, whether learned or otherwise.
The visit marks a significant step towards fostering high-yielding growth in key sectors, including Education, Agriculture, Technology, Potential local and international Investments, Revenue Optimization, Security, Healthcare and Commerce for Gombe State.
The Uniccon Group also met with the Commissioner of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperatives as well as The Honorable Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, management of GROCOL and The interim management of the Muhammadu Buhari International Park, alongside other top government officials including representatives from Minstries of Science Technology and Innovation , Finance and Economic Development, Women affairs, Health, Justice and the State focal director of Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ).
This collaboration holds great promise in terms of creating job opportunities, revenue optimization, meeting up with advancing technological innovation and sustainable economic growth in Gombe State.
Prof. Chuks Ekwueme, the Chairman of the Uniccon Group, as a gesture of good faith to foster good beginning to the long lasting relationship between the Group and the Government, declared that the Uniccon group will give free empowerment in form of capacity building (in areas of Artificial Intelligence, robotics, gadget repair, software and hardware development) for entrepreneurial skills and craftsmanship for 5000 indigenes of Gombe State.
He also donated 10 Virtual Reality goggles to the Gombe State Government to aid boosting the field of Virtual Reality and simulation as contained in a statement by Sadiq Jibril Kasko, Information Officer ,Due Process Bureau, Gombe State.
