Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir on Sunday lost his stepmother, Haj. Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri, fondly known as Dada.
The death of the Governor’s stepmo was announced by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mukhtar Gidado in a statement he made available to Journalists in Bauchi on Sunday.
According to him, Haj. Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri, a revered matriarch and a symbol of wisdom and grace, passed away on Sunday 1st January, 2025 at the remarkable age of 120.
He stated that, “Her passing marks the end of an era of selflessness, piety, and community service, which she exemplified throughout her long and impactful life.”
The funeral prayer (Janazah) will take place on Sunday, at 4:00pm at Dr . Rilwan Adamu Square, Government House , Bauchi.
Bala Mohammed has extended his condolences to the entire Duguri family, and all those who had the privilege of knowing Haj. Hauwa Muhammadu Duguri.
The Governor urged everyone to join him in prayers for the repose of her soul and to honor her enduring legacy.
“May Almighty Allah grant her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and give her family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he concluded.
