Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has warned to citizens of the state particularly traditional rulers and community leaders to refrain from encroaching on lands and forests across the state stressing that his administration will no longer tolerate such.
The Governor however assured the people of the state that his administration is working tirelessly to improve their well-being and promote economic growth and development.
He made this call during the flag-off ceremony of the 25.88km Mainamaji-Badara,-Kuka-Pali rural road project, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective efforts in enhancing the lives of the people.
Bala Mohammed highlighted his administration’s commitment to constructing additional township roads, renovating and upgrading general hospitals and other health facilities as well as providing dividends of democracy to the people.
He also pledged to address the issue of out-of-school syndrome through a partnership with the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), promising to employ thousands of teachers to combat unemployment and restiveness.
The Governor emphasized the significance of the project, stating that its completion will have a positive impact on the state’s economy.
He said that his administration decided to procure various rural roads across the state in order to address the many challenges of poor road network facing the people as well as to boost agricultural growth and development.
He described the Mainamaji – Badara – Kuka – Pali Road project as a strategic one that would connect many communities in the Local Government and urged the benefiting communities to support the contractors.
State Commissioner of Rural Development and Special L Duties, Hon Farouk Mustapha lauded the developmental strides of the Governor assuring the benefiting communities that adequate cash flow has been made to ensure the success of the project.
The representative of the National Coordinator Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Projects (RAAMP) and the representative of the construction firm, TRIACTA Nig Ltd, Engineer Habibu informed the people of the Areas of their readiness to execute the project in line with the contractual agreement and commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his support.
Stakeholders from Alkaleri I Local Government Area that spoke during the ceremony described Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed as worthy son of the area and pledged to support his future political ambitions.
High point of the ceremony was the formal flagging off of the construction of the rural roads.
The road project, undertaken in collaboration with the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) and the World Bank, aims to alleviate the difficulties faced by motorists and farmers, thereby promoting economic growth and development in Bauchi State.
