Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed deep sadness over the demise of Adamu Amma Nitte, the Sarkin Sudan of Tangale.
The highly respected elder statesman an prominent figure in the Tangale Traditional Council, passed away at the age of 89 on Thursday, 12th September 2024, after a protracted illness.
Inuwa Yahaya described the late Adamu Nitte as a distinguished elder statesman, and an invaluable community leader whose death marks a great loss not only to his family and the Tangale people but to Gombe State and Nigeria as a whole.
The Governor praised the late Adamu Nitte’s contributions to public service, highlighting his remarkable services as Gombe Divisional Treasurer in the defunct North East and Bauchi States, as well as his distinguished career at AYU company, where he rose to the position of General Manager and retired after 35 years of outstanding service.
According to the Governor, “Baba Adamu Nitte was a father figure, a trusted confidant, and a guiding light for us and many in the Tangale community and beyond.”
“His wisdom, integrity, and humility were unparalleled, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His contributions to public service and his commitment to the development of his community and the state will never be forgotten,” the Governor said.
The Governor urged the family, associates, and the entire Tangale community to take solace in the rich legacy of service, kindness, and leadership that the late Sarkin Sudan Tangale leaves behind.
The Governor, on behalf of the government and people of Gombe State, extended his heartfelt condolences to the late elder statesman’s family, including his wife, Aishatu Adamu Nitte, and his children, among whom is Amfara Adamu Nitte, a retired accountant with the Gombe State Government.
He prayed God Almighty to grant those he left behind the fortitude to bear this great loss and for the soul of the departed to rest in eternal peace as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, ( Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
