Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and Chairman, Northern States Governors’ Forum has sent a high powered Government delegation to Yola, the Adamawa State capital to commiserate with the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Kashere, Professor Umar Pate over the demise of his mother, Hajiya Hussainatu Sa’ad who passes on recently after a protracted illness at the age of 80 years.
Conveying the sympathy of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the Government and people of Gombe State, the leader of the delegation and Commissioner of Higher Education Mohammed Shetima Gadam express sadness over the death of their late mother and called on Prof Pate, other family members to be console in the fact that the deceased leave a fulfilled live praying Allah to grant her Alzanatul firdausi.
Among members of the State delegation were; Commissioner for Special Duties and Regional Integration Shehu Yerima Addullahi, the Permanent Secretary/Director General Bureau for Public Service Reforms Abubakar Hassan and the Chairman of Akko Local Government Council Danladi Adamu.
Others include; the Acting Vice Chancellor Gombe State University Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, Professor Bertha Audu, Provost State College of Education (COE)Billiri and Executive Secretary State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Abdullahi Haruna Abdullahi.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the Gombe State University Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta also presented a condolences letter to the VC FUK on behalf of the Governing council, management and student of the University.
Reacting to the visit a son to the decease and Vice Chancellor Federal University of Kashere Professor Umar Pate express gratitude to Governor Inuwa Yahaya and the government and people of Gombe State for standing in solidarity with his family during their moment of grief.
Professor Pate describes the show of concern by the Gombe State Government as unprecedented praying to God to bless and sustain the unity of purpose.
He equally use the forum to commend Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his support towards the University which has facilitated the construction of a Senate building and a faculty of medical sciences among other supporting facilities.
It will be recalled that Governor Yahaya had on receiving the sad news issued a press statement identifying with bereaved family through his Director General Media and Publicity Ismaila Uba Misilli as contained in a statement by Joshua Danmallam, Information Officer, SSG’s office, Gombe.
