Niger CP receives new Homeland Security Commissioner

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, received the newly appointed Commissioner for Homeland Security, Barr. Maurice Bello Magaji and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Aminu Aliyu Goro on a courtesy visit at the State Police Command Headquarters, Dutsen-kura Minna on Thursday 18th December 2025.

The Commissioner in his remarks, stated that it was indeed a pleasure being in the Command on an official courtesy visit as part of his first step since assuming office.

He added that the visit was aimed at familiarising himself with the Police Command and heads of security agencies in the State, so as to improve on the standard set by his predecessors and build on the existing relationship.

He also stated that he is a team player and needs the support of the Police Command so as to rebuild the confidence of the populace in the state government through the consolidation of a proactive, more equipped and effective security architecture to ensure safety of lives and property.

Barr. Maurice Magaji concluded by conveying the goodwill and felicitation of the Farmer Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Mohammed Umar Bago whilst appreciating the Commissioner of Police for the warm reception.

The Commissioner of Police, in his response, welcomed the Honorable Commissioner to the Command Headquarters, adding that he is not a strange face in the state executive council.

He assured him of the cooperation, support and synergy of the Police Command in ensuring that his tenure is successful.

The CP, also added that adequate security measures are being put in place, in line with the resolution of the last security meeting.

The Police Boss also assured the Commissioner of the Command’s unreserved efforts in ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for socio-economic growth and development. He congratulated the Hon. Commissioner and wished him a successful tenure in office.
