Patriotic stakeholders in the Northern region have been called upon to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his efforts to carry the country to its promise land in all ramifications.
The call was made by a Three-time Commissioner of Rural and Community Development in Kano State, Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso in an interaction with Journalists in Kano on Sunday
He however condemned the recent protest against the Minister of State for Defense, Dr. Bello Matawalle,which he described,as negative antics targeted at President Bola Tinubu, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje and other leading politicians of the ruling party.
This was just as he described those going on social media to reign insults on the President as only doing disservice to the nation and misleading the public.
Musa Kwankwaso also asked that some politicians he described as disgruntled elements, were they not around when former President Muhammad Buhari was in government, but failed do positive things with his regime for the eight years he ruled.
He appealed to the elders in the North in particular, to be focussed and work hand in hand with the Governors of the region to bring dividends of democracy to the region as President Tinubu is there for them.
“Within the last one year of being in office he has achieved a lot but mischievously those attacking him close their eyes against the achievements” he stated.
He then asked, ” They want to tell us, ,they are not in the country, why do they decide not to talk then, but now that the power has shifted to the South, they are now mounting various unsubstantiated criticisms against President Tinubu
who had rally round Muhammadu Buhari in his Eight years of governance.
According to him,”There were agreements in the past that led to the merger that founded the ruling APC as a strong political party in the country that began with the emergence of President Buhari.”
He explained that the same agreement was what led to the emergence of Tinubu as president and he fulfilled his part of the agreement satisfactorily by making all the necessary agreements.
Musa Kwankwaso disclosed that those behind the protests are the same people that slipped out of the earlier agreements and are now trying to follow channels to bring the president and his men down.
“Tinubu is working hard towards seeing the end of insecurity in the region and the results can be seen in the fact that people can now travel freely between Abuja and Kaduna without fear of being attacked as it was before” he added.
He stressed that, “We are praying for him to succeed as well got his second terms in office ,as our man forner president Muhammad Buhari,ruled the country for a good eight years ,those negative moves have failed on arrival.”
He however hinted that “Instead of engaging in mischievous and unproductive missions, they should rather support the Tinubu administration in bringing the dividends of democracy to the region.
“They should come out and call for the completion of the Abuja – Kaduna – Kano road, Abuja – Kano – Niger rail line, AKK Gas pipelines, Mambila Power project, Bauchi/Gombe oil exploration and many others. Tinubu is ready to do all these and many others to the North.
“Get your Governors together and go for the development and progress of the region” he appealed.
On the the issue of the Kano politics, he revealed that there was actually a last minute agreement that led to the declaration of Abba Yusuf as the state Governor by the Supreme Court which they agreed to and are going to fulfil it.
“They accepted to join the APC at the last minute and all arrangements including power sharing in the state and the party were made at that last minute.
“They agreed to it behind their boss for which he was not happy but had no choice even as he later gave some conditions which might not necessarily be agreed to.
“Now that they are yet to fulfil the conditions given them, they have asked for additional time, about five months, to complete the arrangements and come and join the APC” he revealed.
“We, loyal members of APC, were not against any opposition party members defected to our party ,all were welcome to the canopy of a bigger party in Africa, so far they were ready to contribute their positive qouta to the development of the party ‘he said
Kwankwaso also called on opposition leaders in all respective of the party,that they should criticised constructively,to pave the way for the politics to move forward
He however added that the antics of pull president Tinubu down,we never be condone and would defended with the last blood in their body , because we the die- hard supporters of Tinubu , believe in him,that he has intention of re-write the wrongs of the past.
