Security operatives in Borno State have arrested the Quranic teacher seen in a viral video recently flogging a toddler, one of his Almajiri pupils.
In a social media posting, the Malam can be seen sitting on the ground with his hands handcuffed to his back with his clothes pulled off just as he did to the toddler as seen in the viral video.
He is said to be in detention at one of the security agencies station in Maiduguri pending the day he will be arraigned in court to face prosecution for child abuse and dehumanizing a toddler against the laws against child abuse in Borno state.
Reports have it that the State Governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum has directed that the Malam be prosecuted immediately in line with all relevant laws of the State.
The Governor has also taken custody of the toddler with a directive that he should be treated to ascertain his health status after which other care will be done for the innocent boy.
All those who commented on the post commemded the security operatives for their prompt action calling on them to ensure that the Mallam was adequately prosecuted and made to pay for his wickedness against the boy.
They also commended Prof Babagana Umara Zulum for the prompt action taken urging him to direct for thorough checking of all Quranic centers across the State in order to uncover the ills going on there.
