The national knowledge management and Learning strategy for the health sector nutrition in Nigeria has been validated by stakeholders.
This was the outcome of a two-day workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare with support from ANRiN project of the World Bank to validate the draft National Knowledge Management and Learning strategy which took place at Al-Vari Hotel, Keffi, Nasarawa State on December 21-22, 2024.
Declaring the workshop open, the Director, Nutrition Department of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Ladidi Bako-Aiyegbusi on behalf of the Coordinating Minister, Professor Ali Pate said, the strategy was not just for the health sector but for the country at large.
“Documentation is about finding out about yourself and we are here because we want to institutionalize Knowledge Management in the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
This document will guide us in sharing information appropriately, she said.
In a goodwill message, Michael Daniel of Helen Keller Intl said that the strategy was another milestone that needed to be achieved, adding that knowledge is power which requires good documentation.
According to him, Helen Keller Intl believes in collaboration, and it allows the government to always take the lead in its implementation program.
“This falls within the vision of our organization’’, “he said.
The participants were drawn from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Information, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Helen Keller Intl, CSOs, State Nutrition Officers from Bauchi, Kaduna, Osun and Nasarawa states and two consultants.
At the end of the workshop, the Director, Nutrition department of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare expressed appreciation to the participants for sacrificing their weekend to finalize and validate the maiden national Knowledge management and learning strategy for the health sector nutrition for the country.
