In a significant effort to address the healthcare needs of his constituency, Alhaji Ali Isa JC, the Member of Parliament for Balanga/Billiri, has launched a large-scale medical outreach across Talase, Billiri, and Cham.
The week-long programme has seen an impressive turnout, with residents benefitting from free medical care and health screenings.
Speaking with journalists, the MP highlighted his commitment to his constituents’ welfare. “As the Honourable member for Balanga/Billiri, I consider it essential to prioritise the needs of my people.
We have already intervened across various sectors—agriculture, education, and access to clean drinking water—and now, our focus is on healthcare. We are constructing clinics, equipping hospitals, and ensuring access to basic medical services,” he said.
The outreach aims to provide surgeries for up to 500 patients, focusing on cataract procedures, blood pressure checks, and random blood sugar testing. “Our people are suffering, and we must do all we can to address their health concerns.
While the government needs to do more, we are doing what we can locally,” he said, encouraging his constituents to visit the centres for comprehensive health check-ups and follow-up treatment.
Our correspondent reports that over 14 specialist doctors are participating in the outreach, treating common ailments in the region, including malaria, hypertension, gastritis, and peptic ulcers.
Lead Doctor Dr. Gift Bawa praised the initiative, saying, “The turnout has been incredible. We are delighted to see so many residents benefitting from the MP’s dedication to improving healthcare in this constituency.”
Some beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the programme, commending him for giving them a sense of belonging.
Mr Kari Maijoro stated that Ali Isa JC’s efforts had made a significant difference in their lives, adding that they pray for his continued success.
Another beneficiary, Aishat Mohammed, shared her experience, noting that, in addition to medical assistance, she received financial support to aid her household.
