Bauchi State Police Command, put aside its law enforcement function to demo human kindness by successfully organizing and providing free medical outreach programme for residents of the State throughout the in honor of the maiden National Police Day.
The outreach was an effort to enhance community engagement and promote public health in order to have a healthy society.
The proactive initiative took place at Bayara, an outskirts of Bauchi as well as Muda Lawal Market where its medical Corps provided a range of essential healthcare services to the people who visited the centres.
These included general medical consultations, blood pressure assessments, diabetes screenings, malaria tests, and essential medications.
Also, Health education sessions were conducted to raise awareness about common health issues and preventive care practices.
During the event, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to the well-being of citizens beyond traditional law enforcement responsibilities.
He highlighted that the medical outreach was in line with the Force’s community policing strategy, aiming to build trust and strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community.
“The Nigeria Police Force is dedicated not just to maintaining peace and order but also to the overall welfare of the communities we serve,” CP stated.
He stressed that, “This free medical initiative embodies our commitment to community service, and we are greatly encouraged by the positive response and impact it has had on participants.”
Beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude, praising the Command and the Nigeria Police Force for extending their support beyond security measures.
Many, particularly the elderly members of the community, noted how the initiative has provided them with vital healthcare services that were previously beyond their reach.
The Bauchi State Police Command extended sincere appreciation to the medical professionals, volunteers, and partners whose efforts contributed to the success of this program.
He assured, “As the National Police Day celebrations continue, the Command remains committed to initiatives that foster community well-being and strengthen the bonds between the police and the communities we serve,” As contained in a statement by CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
