As the world celebrate world Rangers day Bauchi State government has been requested to show recognition and support to Rangers towards safeguard the state owned forests and game reserves .
The Project manager Wild life conservation society Nura Yusuf Ahmad made the call in an occasion to mark 2023 world Rangers day held at the Yankari Games Reserve Bauchi.
Nura Ahmad said the call became necessary considering the role played by the rangers in protecting the state’s forests,natural habitats and biodiversity which immensely benefits humanity.
He pointed out that the rangers day was celebrated across the world to solidarity to the rangers for their committed and selfless services.
In a remark the overseeing Director Bauchi State vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency Tasiu Abdulhameed reiterated state government’s committement to training and retraining of rangers towards sustaining the ongoing efforts.
Also speaking, the General Manager Bauchi State Tourism Development Corporation Malam Muhammad Nasiru Yusuf call for collaboration from stakeholders towards boosting the tourism sector in the state.
Some of the rangers spoken to Sulaiman Saidu and Hamisu Usman pledged readiness to safeguard the state forest and natural habitats appealed to the state government to provide them with more working materials to effectively carry out their duties.
