The Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has harped on unity says the people of Cham Chiefdom solidarity and peaceful coexistence among the people of the state.
The SSG also stressed that Communities living in peace stand to benefit in no small measure if they unite and work in solidarity with Government policies and programs.
Ibrahim Njodi stated this when he granted audience to the newly elected National Executive members of the Cham Progressive Association (CPA) led by its Chairman, Marvin Kida at the Government House, Gombe on Tuesday.
He said that the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya is committed towards the provision of indices that enhances the lives and livelihood of the people of the State.
On request by the Chairman of the Cham Progressive Association CPA for the remodelling of the Palace of its paramount ruler, the SSG directed that the request be formally written for onward transmittion to the Governor for consideration.
He disclosed that the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya through the joint project initiative has since commenced the renovation and reconstruction of some traditional rulers palaces within the North and Central parts of the State.
As for the completion of the road from Mona to Bambam and Government assistance towards”Chugoteh” an Annual traditional festival of the Cham people, the SSG advice the Association to make it formal so that the State Government can appreciate the need to intervene.
Earlier speaking, the Chairman of Cham Progressive Association (CPA), Marvin Kida applauded the administration of Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his administrative steadfastness in turning around the fortune of the State especially as it affects the road linking Mona from the Gombe/Yola road.
He equally appealed to Governor Inuwa Yahaya to look into the possibility of linking Mona with Bambam, the renovation of the Palace of the “Nidu grah” Cham and assistance for the forthcoming “Chugoteh” a traditional festival of the people of Cham.
In her itroductory remarks, the Vice Chairperson of Cham Development Association, Dr Felicia Alewa said they were at the SSGs office to formally introduce themselves to government after their recent election by Congress and pledged the Associations loyalty to the State Government as contained in a statement by Joshua Danmallam, Information Officer, SSG’s office, Gombe.
