The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Gombe State Command, has alerted citizens on the influx of bandits’ informants into the state, warning against accommodating the criminals.
The State Commandant of the corps, Muhammad Bello Muazu gave the alert during the decoration of 302 promoted officers and men of the command.
Bello Muazu said following strict security measures on bandits, kidnappers and armed robbers in the North West, the criminals have started shifting attention to North East particularly Gombe State.
The commandant therefore warned citizens against accommodating the criminals and/or their agents, maintaining that the corps shall not take it lightly on anyone found wanting.
“Do not accommodate any new face in your motor parks or markets, do not lease them your houses nor shops, report them to nearby security agencies to tame the criminals in the bud”, he warned.
Commenting on the newly decorated officers, the commandant said they were promoted following their hardwork, dedication and commitments to duty.
On his part, the assistant Commandant General of the Corps Bauchi Zone C ACG Umar Musa Bala, appealed to governments at all level to support the corps in all aspects to strengthen its drive to fighting crimes and criminalities in the nation.
He charged the newly decorated officers to justify their promotions through more commitments to public service.
Some decorated officers who spoke to newsmen expressed gratitude to God Almighty and the NSCDC for finding them worthy of the promotions, assuring to justify the gesture through hardwork.
Representatives of various sister security agencies at the event, congratulated NSCDC and the promotees, while wishing them best into their new ranks.
