Chancellor of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, His Royal Majesty, Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Adesanmi 111 has congratulated the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba.
The monarch while rejoicing with the new VC, admonished him to be steadfast in his new role, just as he encouraged him to build on the successes he met on the ground.
The Chancellor spoke when the new Vice -Chanclellor, led by the Pro-Chancellor of the University, Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada, (rtd) called on him in his Palace at Ado-Ekiti.
The Chancellor said that the appointment of Professor Garba is a well deserved one as he has ably dintinguished himself as an astute academic and that the ATBU terrain is not new to him, hence, there is every ground for him to succeed in his tenure.
“You are familiar with the ATBU terrain and it will not be difficult for you to succeed as a Vice-Chancellor. I urge you to work in harmony with the Governing Council to achieve better Unity and progress in the system”, the Chancellor admonished the new VC.
In his remarks, Professor Ibrahim Hassan Garba assured the Chancellor of his committment to ensure that the University achieve greater heights in his tenure and promised to establish the mechanism for achieving better academic excellence in the University.
He also assured to build on the positivity he met having been part of it before his elevation to the exalted office of Vice Chancellor as contained in a statement by Zailani Bappa, Director, Directorate of Information and Public Relations.
