Bauchi State Government and China-based Minsheng Group Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore and develop the State’s mineral resources.
The Bauchi state Commissioner, Ministry of Natural Resources, Honourable Mohammed Maiwada Bello who made this known in a press statement in Bauchi on Friday, described the initiative as “a historic Partnership to Unlock State’s Vast Mineral Resources”.
Signed by the information officer of the ministry, Saleh Umar, the statement further explained that the move is part of Governor Bala Mohammed’s Vision for Prosperous Bauchi State.
Mohammed Maiwada added that the MoU was signed during a ceremonial occasion, with key highlights to include, Exploration and development of Bauchi State’s mineral resources.
According to the statement, the Partnership aligns with Governor Mohammed’s vision for mining and agricultural cooperation.
“It’s the State Government’s special purpose vehicle to maximize resource utilization and Minsheng Group has expressed determination to commit its investment for the sustainable growth and development of the sector”, the Commissioner stated.
Maiwada Bello who expressed appreciation to the Governor for giving him a level playing ground, noted that the gesture has enabled him to facilitate the signing of the MoU.
The Commissioner further thanked the Governor for the supports to the Ministry’s effort to explore more natural resources which he pointed that, it aims to improve State’s economic status.
Maiwada added that the signing of the MoU is a New dawn for Bauchi State’s mining sector as atated by the General Manager, Minsheng Group, Mrs Louy Xiona.
He emphasized that the historic partnership will no doubt paves ways for sustainable growth, development and job creation in Bauchi State.
He also reiterated his determination to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the achievement of “My Bauchi Project” of the Governor in the mining sector in the State so as to actualize his dream.
