Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has condoled with the government and people of Bauchi State over the demise of Emir of Ningi, Alhaji (Dr.) Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya, OON who passed away in the early hours of today, Sunday at the age of 88 years.
In a message of condolence, the Governor said the demise of the first class traditional ruler, especially at this time, is a great loss not only to Ningi emirate but the country as a whole.
He described the monarch as an iconic ruler and a man of peace who, throughout his 46 years of reign, was known for preaching and promoting unity and harmony among the people of his domain, Bauchi state and the nation at large.
The Gombe Governor, who is also the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, consoled the bereaved royal family to take solace in the fact that the late emir left behind legacies of honour, dignity and selfless service, urging them to uphold and sustain same.
Inuwa Yahaya, on behalf of the government and people of Gombe state, extended his heartfelt condolences to his Bauchi state counterpart, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Chairman of Bauchi State Council of Emirs and Chiefs and Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, members of Ningi Emirate Council as well as government and people of the state over the great loss,.

Also, Bauchi State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) condoled the Government and people of the state over the death of the Emir of Ningi, Muhammadu Yunusa Danyaya.
CAN particularly condoled the Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu as Chairman of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, Ningi Emirate Council, Ningi and Warji LGAs as well as the entire family of the late Emir.
CAN through a statement signed by the Chairman, Rev Dr Abraham Damina Dimues stated that, “The Christian Association of Nigeria, Bauchi state chapter received the demise of the Emir of Ningi our father per excellence with shock.”
According to CAN, “He was a father to us. He loved the Christians with passion. Honestly, a great vacuum has been created. But, we all know that our lives on earth is temporary, we have a home in Heaven.”
“We ask God to give us the fortitude to bear this great lost. Rest on Papa,” The statement concluded.
In the same vein, Bauchi State Council of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) described the death of the Emir of Ningi as a great loss not only to his immediate family, Emirate, Ningi and Warji LGAs, Bauchi State but the entire country.
State Chairmen of CCN, Rev Prof Collins David Agbong in a statement, expressed sadness over the death saying that it came at a time when his fatherly counsel and advices were most needed.
The CCN Chairman added that from the little he heard and read about him, the late Royal Father lived a sacrificial life worthy of emulsion by whoever will succeed him.
According to him, “Throughout his entire life, he never allowed ethno-religious divisions in his domain as no issue of religious crisis was pronounced in the Emirate. He was indeed father to all.”
He prayed for the repose of his soul and for God to grant the immediate family, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In the same vein, the Management, Staff and students of Sa’adu Zungur University, under the leadership of Professor Fatimah Tahir, are deeply saddened by the passing of the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Dr. Muhammadu Yunusa Danyaya.
According to a statement by the University PRO, Auwal Hassan, “The University community mourns the loss of a revered traditional ruler, who was a symbol of wisdom, leadership, and cultural heritage. His demise is a great loss not only to the Ningi Emirate but also to the academic community.”
Professor Fatimah Tahir, Vice-Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University, expressed her condolences, saying, “We are deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of Emir Yunusa Danyaya. He was a great leader and a champion of education. His legacy will continue to inspire us.”
She added, “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Ningi Emirate, the family of the late Emir, and the people of Bauchi State. May his soul rest in peace.”
Also, the Executive Secretary of Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris on behalf of the Board expressed a profound deep sorrow over the demise of Alh. Dr. Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya, the Emir of Ningi.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, stated that the late Royal Father was a 16th revered monarch of Ningi Emirate who reigned for 46 years and died in the early hours of Sunday, 25th August, 2024 after a brief illness.
In a condolence message, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris described the deceased as a great leader and a man of wisdom whose unwavering support and contribution to the development of Traditional institution, Hajj Operation /Management and above all, progress of Bauchi State has left indelible mark which replacement is something luckily.
In this time of deep sadness, Imam Abdurrahman reiterated that “we stand in solidarity with His Excellency, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, the Ningi Emirate Council, the Family of the deceased and all those whose lives he torched”
