Gombe State Police Command on Saturday, joined its counterparts across the country to launch enforcement of the Third-party vehicle Insurance Certificate as directed by the Force headquarters.
The Command however warned the enforcement officers against unprofessional conduct when the exercise lasted.
The Command under the leadership of CP Hayatu Usman has officially commenced the enforcement of third party insurance certificate throughout the State in compliance with the directives of the Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The enforcement teams which comprises of the officers from Motor Traffic Department (MTD), officers from the Operation Department and Various Police Divisional Headquarters, Officials from Insurance Company, Media team and Other Stakeholders were addressed and warned by the Commissioner of Police against any action that may tarnish the image of the force.
The enforcement exercise aimed at upholding the rule of law and ensure the safety of road users.
The Command urged vehicle owners to cooperate with the enforcement officers and obtain the third party insurance certificate or renew if expired immediately to avoid penalties as contained in a statement by DSP Buhari Abdullahi, PPRO Gombe State Command.
