Considering the importance attached to effective and efficient healthcare service delivery tne North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has embarked on construction of a surgical ward and skills acquisition centre at the National Obstetrics Fistula Centre in Ningi, Bauchi State.
Consequently, the Managing Director /CEO of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC paid an inspection visit to the Centre on Saturday to assess the level of work done.
He was however dismayed with delay in the completion of the project, he therefore summoned the contractor handling the construction of the structure for explorations.
He said that the need for the contractor to come to the NEDC headquarters for explanation became necessary because the Commission need to know what is causing delay in the completion of the projects.
Conducted round the projects by the Site Engineer and the Management of the Centre, Goni Alkali expressed the desire of the NEDC in seeing that the facilities were put to use as soon as possible.
He also stated that the Commission is desirous to see that both the Surgical ward and the skills acquisition centre were well equipped in order to facilitate treatment and rehabilitation of the patients.
The NEDC MD/CEO commended Management of the Centre for providing care to the parents assuring that NEDC will always support the Centre to meet the objectives of its establishment.
The projects are rehabilitation of Skills acquisitions Center,,construction and equipping of Surgical Ward at the Centre.
