The Governor charges Newly Sworn in LG Chairmen to Support Distribution of Parlliative
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has sworn-in the twenty Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen with a call on them to come up with an initiative that would facilitate judicious distribution of the proposed parlliative by Federal Government at the local levels.
Similarly, he pleaded with Nigeria Labour Congress NLC to understand that the removal of Fuel Subsidy by the federal government was in the interest of Nigerians and the economy.
He made the call during the swearing in of the caretaker committee chairmen administered by the state Chief Judge Justice Rabiu Talatu Umar at Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall Bauchi.
Speaking after presiding over the event Governor Bala Mohammed who said the appointment of Caretaker Chairmen came at a time Nigerians are experiencing hardship charged them to support any move aimed at cushining the effects.
According to him officials and members of the Organized Labour should reasoned with the Federal Government’s decision in view of the nation’s economic situation assuring that Governors are also committed in protecting the interest of Nigerians at the national level.
On the issue of security, Governor Bala Mohammed directed the chairmen to collaborate with security agencies, vigilante groups, religious and community leaders in addressing various forms of crime and criminality.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the caretaker chairman of Giade Local Government Alhaji Usman Mohammed Saleh who expressed appreciation for their appointment promised to live up to their responsibilities.
He called for the support of all relevant stakeholders to enable them succeed.
