The Gombe State Police Command has paraded 12 suspects arrested over various criminal offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, trespass, theft and receiving stolen properties.
The suspects were paraded at the Kaltungo Police Divisional Headquarters.
Parading the suspects on behalf of the state’s commissioner of police CP Hayatu Usman, the command’s Public Relations Officer Mahid Muazu Abubakar said three of the suspects David Garba of Lapan Ward Shongom Local Government, Isah Mamuda and Ahmed Mamuda of Nassarawo Ward Kaltungo Local Government were arrested in possession of a submersible pump (borehole sumo) suspected to have been stolen, where the exhibits were recovered and the suspects detailed for investigation.
Mahid said investigation revealed that the properties belonged to the Federal Ministry of Environmental Forestry Research Institute Kaltungo Branch which was removed some days ago alongside some pipes and electrical cables.
He said the suspects confessed to have engaged in such criminal activities within Kaltungo axis.
The police image maker added that the other nine suspects were arrested over alleged criminal conspiracy, house breaking, theft and causing grievous hurt.
They were suspected to have carted away Ten Bags of Maize valued at ₦500,000, one mattress valued at ₦70,000 and 12 empty sacks valued at ₦3000.
Mahid Muazu said other exhibits recovered from the suspects include: a long dagger and a heavy iron cutter used in breaking stores; and one Bajaj motorcycle for conveyance of the stolen items.
He restated the command’s commitments to curbing crimes and criminalities across nooks and crannies of the state, calling on the public to support security agencies by reporting any suspicious move around.
He said the cases will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
