In a bold move towards enhancing technological advancements, the Bauchi State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Galaxy Backbone Limited to revolutionize the state’s ICT infrastructure.
The agreement, which took place at the Government House in Bauchi, was presided over by the state’s governor, Senator Bala Mohammed.
The governor emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring a “zero-right-of-way” policy for communication companies, a strategy aimed at removing barriers to ICT development and fostering a robust digital environment in the state.
Speaking during the event, State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed outlined the key benefits Bauchi State stands to gain from the partnership, which include:

Enhanced Government Service Delivery: The agreement will streamline processes, making government services more accessible and efficient.
Professional Data Management and Security: Advanced systems will ensure data is securely stored and managed.

Comprehensive Technical Support: The agreement includes round-the-clock technical support to maintain the integrity of systems.
24/7 Professional ICT Assistance: Constant assistance will ensure minimal downtime for government operations.
Capacity Development: Training programs will equip civil servants and residents with the necessary ICT skills.
The event was attended by the Managing Director of Galaxy Backbone Limited, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, alongside the company’s management team.
Representing the Bauchi State Government were the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Comrade Usman Garba DanTukari, and the Director-General of the Bureau for ICT.
Bala Mohammed expressed optimism about the collaboration, noting that the partnership aligns with his administration’s vision of digital transformation and sustainable development.
He added that the zero-right-of-way policy would significantly reduce the cost and ease the installation of ICT infrastructure, thereby attracting more companies to invest in the state.
