The Gombe State Chief Judge Hon. Justice Halima Sadiya Muhammad has personally supported the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) with drugs, injections and other medical consumables for treatment of suspects arrested by the command.
Presenting the items through her Director Protocol, Barrister Talatu Abubakar, Justice Halima said the gesture was meant to support the command in its commitments to maintaining law and order in the state.
She said as a mother, the Chief Judge deemed it fit to support the command, to properly take care of male and female suspects in its custody.
While calling for judicious use of the items, the Chief Judge said suspects who sustain injuries in the process of arrest or fall sick while in the command’s custody can be given first aid before getting proper attention in the hospital.
Receiving the items, the Gombe State NSCDC Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu, appreciated the Chief Judge for the gesture, maintaining that it will go a long way in assisting the command to properly take care of its sick suspects.
The Commandant assured the delegation of proper utilization of the items, assuring that no NSCDC official, staff or officer shall use the item unless when it critically becomes necessary.
While praying for God Almighty to reward Justice Halima Muhammad, Bello Muazu called on well meaning individuals, groups and associations to borrow leaf from the State’s Chief Judge.
