Gombe State Police Command has assured residents of the state, full security measures ahead of the June 12 Democracy Day Planned Protest.
The Commissioner of Police, Hayatu Usman, assured the people of the state that full security measures have been put in place for the June 12, Democracy Day Celebrations.
The Command also emplaced measures for individuals and groups that are planning to engage in protest. He emphasized the importance of maintaining public order and safety during the national holiday, while also respecting the citizens’ right to peaceful assembly.
The Commissioner stressed that the Command remains committed to protecting the rights and freedoms of all citizens while ensuring the security and stability of our community.
The CP further reiterated that any individuals or groups found to be inciting violence or engaging in unlawful activities will face the full wrath of the law.
In a statement, he highlighted the critical role of the Command in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
He also called for calm and urged all parties to engage in constructive dialogue to address their grievances.
