Gombe State Governor, and Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in the state as they join others across the globe to celebrate the Eid el-Fitr, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a goodwill message, Governor Inuwa Yahaya urged the faithful to uphold the teachings and values instilled during Ramadan, integrating them into their daily lives for the the betterment of society.
He rallied the people of the state towards collective prayer, unity and resilience amidst prevailing economic challenges, assuring that the current difficulties are transient and that better days lie ahead. adding that Nigeria will emerge stronger.
The Governor enjoined Muslim Ummah to sustain the devotion and other acts of worship observed during the holy month as well as imbibe the lessons learnt during Tafsir sessions for the good of the religion, society and humanity, emphasizing that Nigeria is in dire need of good people with excellent moral standings to overcome the evils being perpetrated by some few who do not mean well for the country.
The NSGF Chairman also emphasized the importance of moral integrity in combating societal ills.
” Eid el-fitr festival connotes sacrifice, selflessness, love and obedience to the tenets of Islam. I therefore enjoin us to draw enduring lessons from the Ramadan and show love to one another as well as promote harmony and peaceful coexistence among our diverse people “.
“The same way we all remembered the less privileged and those afflicted by poverty during Ramadan, I implore us to carry over these attributes beyond Ramadan”.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and security, vowing to not tolerate any actions that jeopardize the prevailing tranquility.
While emphasizing the importance of delivering democratcy dividends, he assured the populace of his administration’s focus on uplifting the state and its people.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya encouraged residents to take advantage of various empowerment initiatives of the Federal and State governments to enhance their economic well-being.
He underscored the importance of farming in driving economic growth and ensuring food security, urging citizens to seize opportunities in agriculture and direct their efforts towards productive ventures, demonstrating confidence in the resilience of the people of Gombe State.
