The Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi has expressed confidence that the unity of Nigeria will be further enhanced if Nigerians take interest in seeking for knowledge in environment other than their own.
Professor Ibrahim Njodi gave this indication when he granted audience to University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Alumni Association, Gombe State chapter led by its President, Dr Jafar Waziri.
The SSG who recalled with nostalgia his days at the institution, explained that the bold lines that binds the North and Southern parts of Nigeria are more material that the thin and faint imaginery line that divides the two regions.
He remarked that Nigeria and Nigerians stand to gain if trivialities are relegated to the background and issues revolving around unity, peace, equity fairness and justice are placed on the front burner of national discuss.
Professor Njodi therefore called on Nigerians especially the younger generations to expand their quest for knowledge to environment other than their own so that the Unity in diversity of the Nigerian State can be deepen in the interest of Nation building and cohesion.
Earlier speaking, the National Vice President North East of the Alumni, Dr. Shettima Abdullahi revealed that they were at the government house to celebrate with Professor Njodi an Alumnus of UNN on appointment as the SSG and to thank Governor Inuwa Yahaya for deeming it fit to appoint and reappoint one of their own.
In the same vein, the President of UNN Alumni Association Gombe State chapter, Dr. Jafar Waziri explains that was at the SSG’s office to celebrate with him on his reappoint as the Chief scribe of the State.
He said the reappointment of Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi as SSG did not come as an accident giving his track record as an excellent administrator and a crack academic with years of unqualifiable knowledge and experience.
Dr. Jafar Waziri expressed gratitude to Governor Inuwa Yahaya for not only appointing one of their own as SSG but flooding his cabinet with academics and technocrats who have got intellectual versatility to deliver when it matters the most as contained in a statement by Joshua Danmallam, Information Officer, SSG’s office, Gombe.
