A 20 year old man, Usama Mohammed has been arrested by the Giade Divisional Police Headquarters of the Bauchi State Police Command.
A press release issued to Journalists on Sunday by the Command PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili contained that the suspect was arrested by Detectives attached to the Division.
Usama Mohammed who hailed from Jalo Village in Giade LGA of Bauchi State, was arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy, trespass and armed robbery.
The PPRO explained that the arrest came after a distress call from a victim on August 2, 2024, who reported a home invasion by four armed robbers carrying knives and cutlasses around 9:40pm.
According to him, “The robbers stole an Itel A70 mobile phone value at ₦75,000 and a Huawei phone value at the sum of ₦30,000.”
“Upon receiving the call, a team of Detectives led by the DPO of Giade Division, rushed to the scene, arrested Usama Mohammed while the other members of his gang remained at large. Intensive efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining suspects and bring them to justice,” he added.
Ahmed Wakili added that,”In line with the constitutional duties to safeguard lives and properties, Auwal Musa Mohammed, the Commissioner of Police, has ordered the transfer of the case to the State CID for a discreet investigation.”
