Christian Women in the country have been challenged to use their God given status as humane and tolerant beings to build a Godly family that will in turn metamorphose into a good society devoid of ills and vices.
The assertion was made by the President of Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) Rev Dr Israel Adelani Akanji while speaking in Gombe on Thursday at the 2025 edition of the International Workers Conference holding at First Baptist Church.
According to him, “God has given Women the power to achieve whatever they want to achieve, so, as Christian women, you have to use that divine gift positively in order to edify the name of God and grow the Church.”
Breaking the 2025 theme of the Convention which is Entering into newness through fasting and prayers, the NBC President stressed that it is only through fasting and prayers that barriers can be broken because according to him,” The prayers of the faithful are always moving mountains and yielding positive results.”
He cited biblical women such as Hannah, Esther, Mary Magdalene and others as good example of women who walked with God and achieved greatness which enabled their names to be mentioned in the Bible.
Israel Akanji specifically urged Baptist Women to support the Church in all its programmes stressing that with their number, the Baptist Church can move forward positively to greater heights.
He further urged them to be actively involved in the expansion of the Church through mission and evangelism which are the main focus of the Convention in the last 100 years of its establishment in Nigeria.
He assured that the Convention is ever ready to support any organization that is engaged in mission and evangelism in line with the objective and vision of the Convention at all levels.
