Bauchi State House of Assembly has committed to enroll their constituents into the informal sector component of the State Health Contributory Scheme.
The Speaker of the 10th State House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Sulaiman made the commitment on behalf of other members at the end of the two-day orientation workshop on oversight roles of the members.
The orientation which was organised by USAID funded State2State Activity in collaboration with the State House of Assembly witnessed participation from the entire membership of the 10th Assembly and other select staff of the house.
The Speaker said the members have followed the presentation made by the Executive Secretary, Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA), Dr Mansur Mustapha Dada and understood fully that it takes only ₦12,000 to register a beneficiary for the whole year.
He assured to facilitate massive enrollment of deserving constituents by members of the 10th State Assembly to ease the out of pocket spending of their people.
The State Team Lead of the USAID State2State Activity, Bauchi Field Office, Mrs Rabi Ekele appreciated the participants for dedicating their time throughout the orientation period and seek more collaboration towards providing good governance that would trigger rousing applause from the citizens.
Highlight of the orientation, was the Speaker’s symbolic signing of two key commitments agreed upon by the entire membership of the 10th State Assembly.
