Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has lamented the increase in criminal activities by the dreaded urchins popularly called Sara-Suka in the state especially in Bauchi metropolis.
The Governor therefore declared that his administration remains committed to tackling offenders who jeopardise the harmony and welfare of the state and its citizens.
He added that the present administration will not bow down to any delinquents or swindlers declaring that security agencies will go after them and track them down.
Bala Mohammed was speaking when he presided over the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting held on Thursday at the EXCO Chambers of the Governor’s Office. , with a call on members to ensure good governance is deepened.
While reitrating that his administration will continue to collaborate with security agencies operating in the state to enhance the security architecture of the state, the Governor called on the culprits to “capitulate before it is too late for you, as you will soon be vanquished.”
The tough stance on crime is therefore sendibg a strong warning to criminals operating in Bauchi State to “shape up or ship out.”
The Governor also pledged to tackle criminals, collaborate with security agencies and promote good governance calling for decisive action against lawbreakers by all well meaning citizens.
Recall that the recent security breaches in the state had created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty as people suddenly became apprehensive while the urchins had a field day killing and maiming each other.

The Governor then called on members of the State Executive Council (SEC) to deepen good governance and accountability acknowledging the importance of transparency and responsible leadership in the fight against crimes and illicit Activities.
By working together with security agencies, community leaders, and citizens, Bala Mohammed expressed confidence that his administration will create a safe and secured environment for all.
According to him, “With collective effort and determination, Bauchi State can become a model for effective crime prevention and community policing in Nigeria.”
