The 3-day train the trainer training for 30 selected Teachers in Bauchi state has ended with a call on the trainees to get ready to impact their knowledge on other Teachers across the state.
Speaking at the closing ceremony held at the Conference Hall of Smart School, Bauchi, Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alh Adamu Duguri commended the TY Danjuma Foundation for the training saying that it will go a long way in complementing what the state government is doing.
He stressed that education being the bedrock of every development must be prioritised by any government that wants to succeed and build a future for its people.
The SUBEB Chairman also stressed the importance of Girl-child education because according to him, when the Girl-child is well educated, the society will benefit more from her as a mother and home builder.
He then charged the trainees to ensure that they went back to their respective places and embark on the stepdown training based on what they have learnt in the 3 days of the training.
In his remarks, the representative of TY Danjuma Foundation (TYDF), Tersoo Akura disclosed that the Foundation has so far trained 500 Schools Teachers in Bauchi state building there capacities to be better and standardised educators.
He added that the Foundation has also built and furnished a school in Dass LGA which is taking care of the people in the area who do not have opportunities to access education.
Tersoo Akura also said that the Foundation has evolved a way in which Teachers are motivated and compensated to spur them deliver quality education to the students and pupils.
According to him, “The TY Danjuma Foundation has supported the improvement of education in Bauchi State over the years and it is committed to doing more, that was the reason this train the trainer training was organised.”
In her closing remarks, Executive Director of Girls Education Misson International, Ketura Shammah said that the 3-day training had been a worthwhile considering the response of the trainees.
She expressed confidence that the set objectives of the training will be achieved because the participants are expected to go back to their respective schools to stepdown the training until 5000 Teachers were reached and equipped.
In a presentation, the participants commended the organizers of the training which they said had opened new vistas of Education to them.
They assured that with what they had gained in the 3-day training, they are ready and well equipped to contribute to the general improvement of the education sector of the state.
