The Nigerian Peace Corps has applauded the Bauchi State Governor, Dr Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for working towards the maintenance of peace and security of lives of the citizenry across the state.
The commendation was made by the state Commandant of the Nigerian Peace Corps, CN Abdullahi Inuwa Sambo in his Christmas message to christian community in the State.
CN Abdullahi Inuwa mentioned some of the achievements of the present administration in the state to include Youth empowerment, tackling thuggery, drug and substance abuse that bedeviled the State in the past.
He described youth joblessness as the remedy of insecurity in any Society, and appealed to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to look at the possibility of assenting to the bill of the Nigerian Peace Corps passed by the National Assembly, which will ensure the peace and security of the nation and provide job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths.
The State NPC Commandant then called on the Christian community to celebrate the occasion peaceful and emulate the virtues of prophet Isah peace be upon Him in aspiring the spirit of love, kindness, simplicity and togetherness.
CN Inuwa Sambo used the medium to describe the Commandant General of the Nigerian Peace Corps Dr Mustapha Muhammad Abubakar as the Icon of Peace, considering the up and doing in ensuring peace of the nation at all time.
