The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum ( NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed profound condolences over the demise of Hajiya Dada Yar’Adua, the mother of former President of Nigeria, the late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
Hajiya Dada Yar’Adua passed away Monday evening in Katsina.
In his message of condolence on behalf of the 19 northern governors, Inuwa Yahaya described the late Hajiya Dada as a rare gem and a remarkable woman whose legacy is deeply etched in the history of Nigeria.
He said her life was a typical example of resilience, wisdom, and a nurturing spirit that greatly influenced those around her.
The NSGF Chairman noted that Hajiya Dada was not only a mother to a President, but also to a second in command, and a serving Senator, as well as other distinguished personalities who have played significant roles in shaping the future of Nigeria.
He recognized the profound loss that Hajiya Dada’s death represents, not only to her immediate family, but to the nation as a whole, given her significant contributions through her children’s service to Nigeria.
The Governor prayed that her enduring legacy will continue to inspire future generations of Nigerians to serve their country with dedication and integrity, just as her children have done.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya extended his heartfelt condolences to the entire Yar’Adua family, the government, and the people of Katsina State.
He prayed Almighty Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and to give her family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this great loss as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
