Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed on Thursday, annouced the donation of $100 and 300 Saudi Arabia Riyals to each of the 2,682 intending Muslim pilgrims from the state.
The Governor made the donation while bidding them farewell at the Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Hajj Transit Camp, Bauchi.
The governor said that the gesture was to assist the intending pilgrims address some of their challenges at home so that they will concentrate on the religious rites while there.
He however enjoined them to be good ambassadors of Bauchi state and Nigeria in general while performing the Hajj.
The Governor assured them that every arrangements for their comfort to facilitate the success of the religious exercise in terms of accommodation and feeding have since been completed.
He therefore urged them to intensify prayers for the State and the country in general.
In her remarks, the state First Lady, Haj Aisha Bala Mohammed appealed to the pilgrims to continue to pray for the success of government policies and programs.
She also enjoined them to abide by all the rules and regulations guiding Hajj operations reminding them that Saudi Arabian government are passionate about obedient and adherence to laws.
Other speakers included the State Commissioner of Religious Affairs, Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza, the Executive Secretary, State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdulrahman Idris and the chairman of the Board, Alh Nuru Adamu Jumba
