The Bauchi State Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes ACReSAL Project has today achieved a great milestone in its bid opening for the procurements of Twenty Tractors and Flood/Erosion Control Heavy Trucks to boost agricultural and environmental activities in the state.
The bid opening ceremony which took place at the conference hall of the Bauchi State Project Management Unit was presided over by the commissioner, Ministry of Environment, Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule.
During the opening, the State Project Coordinator, Dr Ibrahim Kabir welcomed all the potential contractors and other participants at the event, saying this is part of the processes of the World Bank in awarding contracts which must be conducted, and urged for a peaceful bidding that will bring success of the project in the state.
While advising for transparency during process, the PC used the forum and appreciated the presents of the Commissioner, ministry of environment, DG BASEPA, project coordinator, RIFAN as well as project engineer RAM who honoured the invitation to serve as witnesses to the event of the bid opening.
In his closing remarks, the Commissioner of Environment who doubles as the Chairman State Steering Committee expressed satisfaction with the transparency of the process and highlighted the anticipated benefits of the procurement in mitigating flood/erosion challenges and enhancing agricultural activities in the state.
The Bauchi ACReSAL Project Procurement Officer, Salisu Dauda took center stage in ensuring the process was conducted smoothly, following all the necessary guidelines of bid opening.
In their vote of thanks, Sadiq Abbas, Project Manager of Sketchy Integrated Tech LTD, conveyed gratitude on behalf of participating firms and expressed optimism for successful project implementation following the bid opening as contained in a statement by
