Bauchi State Sector Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the killing of Six people in a fatal automobile crash involving two vehicles in Bauchi.
Unfortunately, the Six dead people are from the same family in Gombe thereby making it a tragic Sunday for the Maidalan Gombe family in Gombe.
The crash according to Bauchi State Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) occurred along the Azare road when the family was travelling back to Gombe from Kano.
The Sector Commander of the FRSC, Patrick Ikaba confirmed the crash to our Correspondent vide a telephone conversation on Monday saying that the crash occurred Sunday evening as was reported by the Azare Unit Command.
According to him, the RTC occurred at KM 35 along the Azare – Misau road at 1455hrs, reported at 1459hrs while operatives of the FRSC in Azare arrived the scene at 1520hrs given a response time of 21 Minutes.
He explained that the crash involved two, a privately driven Toyota Camry, saloon car with Vehicle Registration number GME 870 AA and a VW Golf 3, Station Wagon used for commercial transportion with vehicle registration number SHR 364 XA driven by one Mallam Ya’u Zadawa .
The Sector Commander disclosed that the provable cause of the crash was tyre burst (TBT) and speedlimit violation (SPV) leading to a head on collision.
The number of people injured was 02 all Male Adults while those killed were 06 (3 Male Adults, 3 Female Adults) out of the total number of people involved which was 08 ( 4 Male Adults, 3 Female Adults and 1 Male Child).
The actions taken by personnel of the FRSC was to evacuate the injured victims and the corpes to General Hospital, Misau for treatment and confirmation of death in conjunction with Nigeria Police, Misau Division just as obstruction was cleared led by
Rescue Team Leader, DRC AS Lazarus
for the Unit Commander.
Meanwhile, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has conveyed his deepest condolences to Maidalan Gombe over the loss of 6 of his family members in a fatal motor accident along Azare- Gombe Road.
The Governor who attended the funeral prayers alongside the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Dr Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III and hundreds of other sympathizers, noted that, the loss of family members in such a tragic manner is quite devastating.
He said the entire Gombe community is deeply affected by this sad event saying that, ” Our heartfelt condolences to Maidalan Gombe and the entire bereaved family members during this incredibly difficult time.”
He stressed that, “The loss of 6 family members in such a tragic road accident is not only a profound loss to your family but it also deeply affects the entire Gombe people”.
According to him, “Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt for the immense grief you and your loved ones are experiencing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you pass through this heartbreaking time”.
