The Rotary Club International of Kaltungo District,D9125 has in pursuant to its service to humanity embarked on a 3 day Family Health Programme at the General Hospital Kaltungo, Gombe State on Tuesday 16th, April 2024.
The free Family Health Programme according to Club Secretary of Rotary, Rotarian Bakwai Kamla who represented Gombe State Coordinator of the Programme Rotarian, Mohammed Dantata Ndus said it is aimed at providing basic health services to the people especially those at the lower ladder of society.
Rotarian Bakwai also said Rotary International has been doing a lot in health and other areas of human needs thereby complimenting efforts of the State Government in meeting necessities of life for the populace.
He further encouraged the people to always visit medical facilities for their ailments rather than resorting to self medication that most times leads to avoidable health complications.
The Medical outreach which featured lectures on health related issues also include free diagnosis, testing and drugs to participants.
A beneficiary, Mrs Na’omi Elkana expressed gratitude to Rotary International for the gesture stressing the need for other organisations to emulate as the government alone cannot shoulder the enormous needs of the people.
Also speaking, another beneficiary of the gesture Malam Ibrahim Adamu lauded the Rotary international for the gesture and used the medium to commend the Gombe State Government under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the total overhaul of Kaltungo General hospital which had suffered neglect over the years.
