The Caretaker Chairman Warji Local Government area Hon Muhammad Shuaibu, has praised MEDA a Canada based Non Governmental Organization for transforming the socio-economic well-being of the people in the area.
The chairman made this known while speaking during the MEDA Nigeria Way Local Government Project Close-Out event in the area, expressed delight that all the humanitarian services rendered by the Organization will not be in vein as his council will strategies policies that will complement the efforts
Represented by the Head of agric department Alhaji Ibrahim Datti Kariya, the chairman appealed to the beneficiaries from the different categories of the Ngo’s projects to carry the campaign back to the doorstep and teach what they have learnt to other people in the area.
Speaking earlier, the Country Project Manager Mennonite Economic Development Association (MEDA) Mrs. Fosen Grace Okelola, said despite some challenges encountered, Warji Local government remains the reason for the success recorded in implementation of the Seven year MEDA Project in Bauchi State.
Fosen Grace Okelola explained that the organization during its 7 years project touched a wide range of areas of human life including Agricultural Value-Chain, girls education, entrepreneurship and organized series of training, seminars and town hall meetings.
She said they will be happy if benefitting people would continue to uphold all the training and steps-in towards the mission of the organization.
Grace Okelola, who noted that MEDA has worked in Toro, Dass, Ganjuwa, Jama’are, Warji, Katagum and Bauchi local government, commended the leaders in the area for the cordial working relationship enjoyed.
In his vote of thanks the District Head of Warji who was represented by the Galadiman Warji, Alh Sale Ahmad, corroborated the positive developmental social change brought by MEDA through its well coordinated policies and programs.
The traditional ruler requested the officials from MEDA to re-write the name of Warji in demand list as the area is ever ready to welcome any program from the Organization in the future
In their separate remarks some of the beneficiaries both appreciated the positive support and contribution of MEDA on their lives, and promised to ensure the full sustenance of the project in the area.
MEDA Projects stay for about 7 years in Warji Local government, rigorous training and series of seminars, workshops and town hall meetings have been conducted, over two hundred women and youth organizations benefited in the area of youth Entrepreneurship and Women empowerment as well.
